Prince Buster & The Determinations

 

Cecil Bustamente Campbell  nasceu em Kingston a 24 de maio de 1938 tendo falecido a  8 de setembro de 2016, mas é mais conhecido como Prince Buster e foi uma das figuras mais importantes na história do ska e Rocksteady. Muitos dos seus  trabalhos foram realizados na década 60 e que inspirou e inspira muitos artistas reggae e ska.

Giuliano Palma & The Bluebeaters

Giuliano Palma é um cantor italiano com vasta discografia e co-fundador dos Casino Royale, grupo milanês que era inspirado pela saga de James Bond. Com diversos álbuns marcados pela influência de ska e de reggae. Em 1999, Giuliano opta por ter carreira a solo e dedicando-se ao seu projecto paralelo, os The Bluebeaters.

Estes são compostos por vários integrantes de outras bandas italianas, como os Brothers of Soledad, Africa Unite e dos Casino Royale, fãs do rocksteady e da soul americana. O seu primeiro espectáculo é realizado com os Soledad Brothers em Turim, sendo um sucesso retumbante. Em 2000 e conjuntamente com os The Bluebeaters lançam “The Album” atingindo o disco de ouro e em 2001 lançam “Wonderfull Live” num espírito nostálgico, mas muito contemporâneo. Depois “Gran Premio” em 2002, “Long Playing” de 2005, 2007 “Boogaloo”, 2009 “Combo”.

Welcome, rudeboys and rudegirls. Além de ser transmitido pela brasileira MutanteRadio e pela portuguesa Rude Party Web Radio, o Skataplá invade o Reino Unido e agora também faz parte da programação da britânica Boot Boy Radio. E nesse nono episódio a gente ouve um pouco da história da rádio pela voz do seu criador, o DJ Geoff Longbar, que também é o criador de um dos programas de ska mais antigos da Inglaterra. Neste programa também fazemos um convite pra próxima edição do Skarnaval, que rola neste sábado (02/01) na CASAMARELA em São Bernardo.
